Chat Themes and Custom QR Codes for Payments are now available in Facebook Messenger

Following the events of the previous year, everyone is eager for some sort of change, even if it’s just to their mobile messaging apps. This week, Facebook introduced three brand new features designed to improve the overall experience of using Messenger.

Facebook now provides a selection of chatroom themes for use in Instagram and Messenger. These themes can be used if you have discovered a new personal style during the shutdown or if you are simply bored of using boring backgrounds. There is a delightful method for everyone to express themselves electronically, whether it be through the fanciful face stickers of Olivia Rodrigo, the sustainable reefs of World Ocean Day, or the heart-pounding pace of the Fast & Furious franchise.

If you want to make the adjustment in Messenger or Instagram (presuming that your applications are compatible and up to date), simply head to the chat settings, click the Theme button, and choose your preferred option from the drop-down menu that appears. It is not known whether these particular themes will be made available for use for an infinite amount of time or when (or if) additional ones will be included.

Bar for Quick Replies

“We’re all about enhancing efficiency, so we’ve introduced a new rapid reply bar to the Messenger media viewer,” Sateesh Kumar Srinivasan, director of product at Messenger, wrote in a blog statement about the new feature. “We’ve added a new quick reply bar to the Messenger media viewer.” This makes it simpler to have conversations started by a cool photo or video without having to return to the main chat thread that you were previously in.

Simply comment to the post by tapping on the piece of media and looking for the text bar at the bottom of the screen. Swipe up to close the full-screen viewer and return to the discussion that was previously open. Simple

Messenger QR codes & payment links

Users in the United States who are logged into Messenger may now take use of a new feature that allows them to send or receive money using Facebook Pay. You don’t even need to be connected with the other person on Facebook; therefore, there’s no use in bothering to download a separate app or adding new contacts on the fly. Simply navigate to Messenger settings > Facebook Pay, then either provide your contacts with the payment link or permit them to scan your personal QR code in order to send or request money.

The social networking service offered no other information, instead recommending its members to “keep tuned for more announcements coming soon.”
