Since its inception, Stadia has sparked a lot of debate, particularly over its offered features. Voice chat and a store search tool have finally made an appearance in the last few of years, helping to make the platform feel lot more full. Google has made an attempt to incorporate many of the promised features into the service, as well as some new and fascinating ones, but it is still a work in progress.
The ability to utilize any sort of controller with the service, which eliminates the need for first-party gear, is an extremely beneficial feature. Let’s look at how to play on Stadia with an Xbox or PlayStation controller
Using an Xbox or PlayStation controller with Google TV on a computer, phone, or Chromecast
It’s as simple as playing other games with your Xbox or Playstation controller on a computer, phone, or Chromecast with Google TV.
- Open your device’s Bluetooth settings.
- Bluetooth should be enabled.
- To pair a new device, go to Pair new device.
- Turn on the pairing mode on your controller.
- To link them, select the controller’s name from the list of available devices.
- Play your game in the Stadia.
Using a Chromecast Ultra with an Xbox or Playstation controller
Although using a third-party controller with the Chromecast Ultra is a little more complicated, Google did add the possibility in September. This is how you do it.
- Ensure that your Chromecast Ultra is switched on.
- Go to your phone’s Bluetooth settings.
- To pair a new device, go to Pair new device.
- Turn on the pairing mode on your controller.
- To link them, select the controller’s name from the list of available devices.
- On your phone, open the Stadia app.
- At the upper right, press the controller button.
- Select your controller from the list of supported controllers.
- Select “Play on TV” from the drop-down menu.
Your Chromecast Ultra is now connected to your controller, allowing you to play games on your TV. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to use your phone while playing Stadia because shutting or navigating away from the program will disconnect the controller.
Stadia makes it easier than ever to play on any device by allowing you to use the hardware you already own, so give it a shot and see how it works for you. Look no further if you want to discover more about the situation of Stadia in 2022 or where Stadia is headed in the future.
