The PlayStation 5 is the fastest-selling video game console on the market, luring millions of gamers to upgrade their computers in anticipation of the next wave of blockbuster releases. PlayStation’s extensive library of exclusive games has contributed to the company’s long-term success, with titles such as “The Last of Us,” “God of War,” and “Marvel’s Spider-Man” shattering sales records and winning game of the year awards.
Sony claims to be working on at least 25 PS5 exclusive titles, several of which will also run on PS4. That’s good news, because the PS5’s high demand is likely to outstrip supply for the majority of 2021. When PS4 owners upgrade to PS5, they will be able to enjoy an even better version of titles like “Horizon Forbidden West” for free.
Only a few PS5 games, such as “Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart” and “Demon’s Souls,” are not compatible with the PS4 due to technical limitations.

‘Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart’
Since 2002, “Ratchet and Clank” has been a PlayStation exclusive series, and “Rift Apart” is the first new entry since the franchise was relaunched and converted into a film in 2016.
To combat the wicked Dr. Nefarious and his henchmen, Ratchet and his robotic companion Clank have devised a variety of weaponry and gadgets. Ratchet travels through space and time in “Rift Apart” to prevent Nefarious from tearing the universe apart, using a combination of platforming and run-and-gun skills to get through each new realm.
“Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart” is a PlayStation 5 exclusive that takes advantage of the PS5’s fast loading speeds to enable Ratchet jump between worlds faster, as well as ray tracing for improved reflections and lighting. Rivet, a character from another dimension, is also a new playable character in the series.
‘Final Fantasy VII Remake: Intergrade’
The original “Final Fantasy VII” was one of the first significant exclusives on the PlayStation 1, while “Final Fantasy VII Remake” is an exclusive remake of the classic game for the PS4 and PS5.

Guerilla Games, the developers of “Horizon Forbidden West,” claim that the PS5 controller’s haptic feedback will allow players to feel the resistance of Aloy’s bow while aiming, and that it will have unique interactions when battling against machines and humans.
The PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of “Horizon Forbidden West” have been confirmed by Sony.
‘God of War’
With its refined gameplay and story presentation, the 2018 reboot of “God of War” was one of the PlayStation 4’s most critically lauded titles, garnering many “Game of the Year” accolades. During a PlayStation 5 event in September 2020, Sony hinted the game’s sequel with a logo and the phrase “Ragnarok.”
The sequel to “God of War” is set to be released in 2022, according to Sony’s Santa Monica Studios, although we should see a trailer before the end of the year.
‘Gran Turismo 7’
“Gran Turismo” is Sony’s quintessential racing franchise, with each new installment pushing the console’s hardware to its limits. Sony has revealed that “Gran Turismo 7” would use the PS5’s Dual Sense controller to include ray-tracing visual effects, 3D audio, and haptic feedback.

“Returnal” also provides one of the best demonstrations of the PS5 hardware to date, expertly combining the DualSense controller’s adaptive triggers and haptic feedback with the console’s next-gen processing power.
‘Destruction AllStars’
“Destruction AllStars” is a vehicle combat game in which players compete in a brutal demolition derby. While the focus is on your automobile, drivers can exit their vehicle to avoid elimination and reclaim the lead by hopping into another vehicle on the track.
“Twisted Metal,” a PlayStation-exclusive vehicle combat game that debuted two months after the original PlayStation in 1995, will be remembered by long-time PlayStation aficionados. Although “Destruction AllStars” lacks the dark humor of its predecessors, PlayStation has a lengthy history with the vehicle combat genre.
‘Demon’s Souls’

“Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales” is set one year after the events of the first game in New York City. Miles will be familiar to Marvel fans thanks to his appearances in the 2018 film “Into the Spider-Verse” and years of comic book appearances. With the PS5’s ray tracing features, his unique spider powers — an invisibility cloak and electric venom blasts — seem even more spectacular.
While “Miles Morales” may be played on the PS4, the enormous improvements in aesthetics and loading times make it one of the most impressive PS5 titles. If you haven’t played the original “Marvel’s Spider-Man,” the $70 Ultimate Edition of “Miles Morales” includes a remastered version for PS5.
‘Sackboy: A Big Adventure’
When the PS5 was released, Sackboy, the mascot of Sony’s “LittleBigPlanet” series, got his own game. Unlike “LittleBigPlanet,” which focuses on constructing your own 2D platforming levels, “Sackboy: A Big Adventure” includes a full 3D range of motion as well as a set of predefined levels for up to four players.
The PlayStation 4 version of “Sackboy: A Big Adventure” is also available, albeit the PS5 version has faster load times and better visuals. However, in titles like “Spider-Man: Miles Morales,” the difference between PS4 and PS5 isn’t as evident.
