The Samsung Galaxy F23 improves on its predecessor in every way possible

While Samsung is best known for its Galaxy S and A-series smartphones, it also sells Galaxy F and M smartphones in India. These gadgets are mostly targeted towards a few online and retail channels, and they don’t usually provide anything groundbreaking or stunning, but they’re fine options in their own right. The Galaxy F23 is Samsung’s newest gadget in this category, and with some much-needed advancements over its predecessor, it could be an exception to the trend.

While the F22’s most notable feature was its 6,000mAh battery, the F23 has a lot to offer — albeit at the cost of that massive cell. It has a 6.6-inch FHD+ IPS LCD panel with a 120Hz refresh rate and Gorilla Glass 5, which is a major improvement over the previous model’s 6.4-inch 90Hz HD+ display. An octa-core Snapdragon 750G processor, up to 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, and a dedicated microSD card slot round out the internals. Another major addition is 5G support, albeit the network is still far from ready to go live in India.

A 50MP primary shooter, an 8MP ultra-wide with 123° ultra-wide, and a 2MP macro sensor are housed on the back, while an 8MP selfie shooter is housed in the punch-hole in the display. Unfortunately, the Galaxy F23’s 5,000mAh battery is significantly smaller than last year’s model, but it should still be enough to get you through a day of heavy use. More crucially, the phone supports 25W fast charging, which means that charging the 5,000mAh battery should take much less time – the F22’s battery was limited to 15W charging speeds. There is no charger included in the box, which has been a recurring theme for the corporation, so you’ll have to pay extra to get one.
The phone’s software is based on the One UI 4-based Android 12. Unlike Samsung’s mid-range Galaxy A smartphones, the F23 is only promised two Android OS updates. For further security, the power button has a fingerprint scanner as well as a face unlock option.

From March 16, the Galaxy F23 will be available in Aqua Blue and Forest Green in India. The base model will cost Rs 17,499 ($233) with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage, while the upgrade to 6GB would cost Rs 18,499 ($245). Customers may acquire the phone for Rs 14,999 ($200) after discounts as part of an early-bird promotion.
